Last week was coming back! For us, this is kind of a big deal. We had always planned to do a second season, but we never got around to it. We lacked time and energy and decided to take a quick break from writing and shooting it. Unfortunately that quick break almost spanned the last two years. Now that we’re re-visiting the series there are a lot of things that need to change in order to make it possible.

One thing we’re doing is changing the story completely. Since it’s been two years, we’ve accepted the fact that our old set is probably gone forever. Although it is Untitled-1 saved on various server back-ups, getting it on to our new server would be a huge pain in the butt… The story we’ve written works around not having the old set, which has actually been a huge advantage.

We need to re-build 1st Street literally and figuratively. We’re striving for better voice acting, more detailed writing and being more efficient when shooting and editing. When we did the show originally, I would send the scripts off to the voice actors to read on their own time. This gave them a chance to screw up as many times as they needed to, while the rest of us went off to shoot the show on the server using puppeteers to control the characters for the voice actors. This made it easy for the actors, but not so much for me… Plus it really cuts down on the quality of the acting since the actor has nobody to actually talk to. It’s important that actors feed off the energy of their peers.

The other issue we’re addressing is the attention to detail. Mojo pointed out that the first season really only focused on Vick. There were plenty of opportunities to learn more about the other characters, but we never took advantage of them. In this season, we plan to give everyone else a little more screen-time.

Finally, getting a better work-flow on my end is the biggest reason why it’s taken this long for 1st Street to continue. With the new way we’re recording our voice-overs, that alone will cut down on editing time. Not to mention that over the last couple of years I’ve learned a lot more tricks for editing audio and video.

No matter what, producing a machinima is a lot of work. While we’re going through this process, I expect my YouTube channel to be rather quiet. The truth is, Let’s Plays are fun but I’m really feeling like doing something more meaningful with my time on YouTube.

1st Street, Season 2 is coming soon and will be uploaded to my YouTube channel. Thank you so much for the support! I can’t wait to show you what we have in store. :) Check out the teaser for Season 2 below!
